Mothers’ womb

Think about the things that are offered to you by Allah. You’re living in a world that has been designed and formed especially for you. You didn’t do anything to make your way to this world or its wondrous order. You made no contribution to any of these things.

You only opened your eyes one day and found yourself in the midst of all these blessings.

You can see, hear and feel. But all this happened only because Allah willed to create you. In return, He only asked us to be grateful to Him, as He maintained in the Qur’an:

Allah brought you out of your mothers’ wombs knowing nothing at all, and gave you hearing, sight and hearts so that perhaps you would show thanks. (Qur’an, 16: 78)

Have you ever thought?

Have you ever thought about the fact that you did not exist before you were conceived and then born into the world and that you have come into existence from mere nothingness?

Have you ever thought about how the fragrant and beautifully colored flowers you see everyday have come out of pitch black, muddy soil?

Have you ever thought about how mosquitoes, which irritatingly fly around you, move their wings so fast that we are unable to see them?

Have you ever thought about how the peels of fruits such as bananas, watermelons, melons and oranges serve as wrappings of high quality, and how the fruits are packed in these wrappings so that they maintain their taste and fragrance?

Have you ever thought about the possibility that while you are asleep a sudden earthquake could raze your home, your office, and your city to the ground and that in a few seconds you could lose everything of the world you possess?

Have you ever thought of how your life passes away very quickly, and that you will grow old and become weak, and slowly lose your beauty, health and strength?

Have you ever thought about how one day you will find the angels of death appointed by Allah before you and that you will then leave this world?

Have you ever thought about why people are so attached to a world from which they will soon depart when what they basically need is to strive for the Hereafter?

Man is a being whom Allah furnishes with the faculty of thought. Yet, most people do not use this very important faculty as they should. In fact, some people almost never think.

In truth, each person possesses a capacity for thought of which even he himself is unaware. Once man begins to use this capacity, facts he has not been able to realize until that very moment begin to be uncovered for him. The deeper he goes in reflection, the more his capacity to think improves, and this is possible for everyone. One just has to realize that one needs to reflect and then to strive hard.

Who holds you?

You are working on computer in your office or in your home and sitting in a chair right now, you do not feel any movement. But in fact you are actually moving at great speed around the Earth, around the Sun, around the Milky Way, and through the universe at this very moment.

Let’s take a look at where all this speed is coming from.

The first thing to consider is the earth’s rotation. The earth is 40,000 kilometers in circumference at the equator. The earth takes 24 hours to make one rotation. 40000/24 = 1666 kph

The Earth is also making one orbit around the sun every year. The Earth is roughly 150 million km away from the sun, giving its orbit a circumference of 942 million km. That works out to the speed 107,000 KPH.

There are 250 billion stars in our galaxy (Milky Way). The sun is one of these 250 billion stars.
Our solar system itself is also moving in an orbit around the galactic core. The solar system is something like 25,000 light years away from the center of the galaxy, and the galaxy makes one rotation every 250 million years or so. That gives the solar system a speed of something like 675,000 KPH.
The Galaxy (Milky Way) we live in is just one of 300 billion galaxies in the observable universe.

Galaxy itself is moving
Milky Way moves through space within the cluster of galaxies. This speed is 600 km/s in the direction of the constellation Hydra.
Milky Way moves through space within the cluster of galaxies it is a member of, and this cluster in turn moves through space towards yet another larger cluster of galaxies off in the direction of the constellation Virgo. This speed of larger cluster of galaxies is approximately 300 km/s.

So it is assumed that the galaxy is moving through the universe at a speed of 900 km/s, which means 3,240,000 KPH.
Adding it all up:
1,670 + 107,000 + 675,000 + 3,240,000 = 4,023,670 KPH
You are hurling through space at 4 million KPH, even though it feels like you are sitting still, you also don’t feel even a small jerk.
Who holds you during this tremendous hurling through the space?
Almighty Allah holds you.
Allah has created the Earth as a living space within the boundless universe. We live on a world that occupies almost no place at all within infinity. In fact, not just our Earth but even our galaxy occupies a tiny place in the universe. So just imagine how small a place you yourself occupy in this utterly vast universe.  Every single atom in each of these 1024 stars is under the control of Allah at every moment. Every movement, speed, speed of revolution, the temperatures and distances of and between every planet, every one of the 1024 stars and 300 billion galaxies are all determined in the Sight of Allah at every moment.
